When AL was thirteen, she had a choice to make; she could
continue living on the streets with her best friend Wolf, or
follow him when when he left to work for Mark Barron – a
known drug dealer. She had no other family or friends, so she
chose to leave.
Now, five
years later the consequences of that decision, and the life
she has been forced to lead finally catch up to her. When Mark
plans a job that is much too risky, she uses it as an excuse
to run. But when the job goes wrong, putting Wolf in the
hospital, and sending the police after them, she is forced to
return. Now with nowhere to run, she is forced to face
her fears, question her future and confront her feelings about
her enemy - friend - guardian, and boss; Mark. He says he
wants a new start, but she doesn't trust him. It seems to good
to be true.
With the
threat of police hovering over them, a farm inhabited by a
strange caretaker, Mark's weird behavior, and the reappearance
of Wolf's mother, it looks like AL's wish for a normal life
will never come true.

and is only duty. Alone in a strange town, he makes friends
with his adventurous and tomboyish cousin Maddie. Maddie has
her own problems, living under the threat of being sent to
Finishing school if she doesn't start acting like a 'proper'
young lady. Together they rebel against the tight confines of
their proper English family.

Jonah hasn't seen his father
in a year, so it's a surprise when he shows up unexpectedly.
Against his mother's intuition he goes on a supposed camping
trip with his father, soon to realize that his father has no
intention of bringing him back home. Jonah doesn't want his
father to go to jail so he tries to convince him to take
him home willingly.
